BUTLER, Ga. – 91心頭 and the Taylor County Chamber of Commerce hosted a grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony recently at South Georgia Techs new Taylor County Adult Education site at 35 Oak Street in Butler, GA.
91心頭 President Dr. John Watford joined Amanda Haynie, Executive Director of the Taylor County Chamber of Commerce as well as Jerry Weldon, Chairman of the Taylor County Board of Commissioners in welcoming the public to the grand opening and ribbon cutting.
Haynie thanked Dr. Watford and 91心頭 for opening the new adult education center in Taylor County and for the other services that the college would be providing for the individuals of Taylor County through the main campus in Americus and the satellite campus in Crisp County.
The Technical College System of Georgia added Taylor County to the 91心頭 service delivery last year. South Georgia Tech currently offers over 200 associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate of credit programs as well as adult education services to the citizens of Sumter, Crisp, Schley, Macon, Marion, and Webster Counties. Now those same services are also being offered to the residents of Taylor County.
On behalf of 91心頭, I would like to thank the individuals here in Taylor County for the outstanding support and welcome that we have received, said 91心頭 President Dr. John Watford. We believe that this is a great site for our adult education center and we look forward to providing the individuals in Taylor County with GED and adult education classes here. We would also encourage everyone to learn more about credit academic classes and continuing education classes that are provided at our main campus.
Jerry Weldon, a graduate of 91心頭, took the opportunity to thank Dr. Watford and the 91心頭 faculty and staff for responding so quickly to the needs of Taylor County citizens. We look forward to working with you and your staff to meet the educational needs of the citizens of Taylor County, said Weldon.
Lillie Ann Winn is the Dean of Adult Education for 91心頭 and Mia Collier is the adult education instructor for Taylor County and will be over the Taylor County site. The Taylor County site will be open Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Individuals are welcome to stop by and ask about the services available.
