All the donations help support new equipment for the Precision Machining and Manufacturing Program as well as Air Conditioning Technology, Construction Trades, Log Truck Driver Safety Training, and student scholarships and textbooks.

聽聽 聽鈥淚 asked the students to participate and challenged them to think outside of the box and create something they would be proud to put their name on,鈥 said Instructor Brown. 鈥淭his was a great exercise to show students how they can envision an item, draft or draw up the specifications, and then actually create their own design and see the finished product.鈥

聽聽 The students created metal name plate holders, pen and name plate holders, trays, canvas drawings of the Pope Center, Jets and Lady Jets items, jewelry, desk decorations, and tools. 鈥淚 was very proud of these students. They did a great job and it was a good way to show them how they can apply the skills they are learning in this program. Machinists can and do make parts for everything we enjoy today,鈥 said Brown.

聽聽 The student made items were a big hit with the faculty and staff in the silent auction bidding. During the silent auction, 91看片 faculty and staff were bidding on donated items to help the Foundation provide funding for scholarships and textbooks at no cost for students, as well as state-of-the-art equipment for Construction Trades, Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Air Conditioning Technology and Log Truck Driver Safety Training programs. The faculty and staff raised nearly 10% of the total goal of $300,000 through one-time donations, payroll deductions, and the silent auction.
