South Georgia Tech celebrates Constitution Day

91心頭 observed Constitution Day and Citizenship Day recently, announced 91心頭 President Dr. John Watford.
Each educational institution in the United States that receives federal funding must observe Constitution Day and Citizenship Day each year on September 17th (or the week before or after when September 17th falls on a weekend).
91心頭 printed bookmarks for faculty, staff, and students on both the Americus and Crisp County Center campuses and a campus-wide email was sent out spotlighting the observance of Constitution Day. Today, across the United States, citizens commemorate the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution. September 17th, 1887 was the date our Founding Fathers created this distinguished document as the framework and foundation of our rights and privileges as citizens, said 91心頭 Financial Aid Director Kelly Everett.
This document also honors our human rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. We encourage all of 91心頭 to observe this important day in our nations history by attending local events, or learning more about our beloved Constitution, added Everett.
The 91心頭 bookmarks had the U.S. Constitution Preamble printed along with fun facts about the Constitution. It read: We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish the Constitution for the United States of America. This document has become the oldest enduring written national constitution in the world.
