Yawn of Americus named new 91¿´Æ¬ Medical Assisting Instructor
Jeana Yawn of Americus was hired as a new full-time Medical Assisting Instructor for 91¿´Æ¬ in Americus effective immediately, announced 91¿´Æ¬ President Dr. John Watford. She will report to 91¿´Æ¬ Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers.
  Yawn, who is a 91¿´Æ¬ alumni, was working with the Riverside Treatment Center inside Flint River Hospital in Montezuma as a Licensed Practical Nurse prior to accepting the position as a Medical Assisting Instructor at 91¿´Æ¬ in Americus. She joins Medical Assisting Instructor Diana Skipper in Americus and Carol Cowan, who is the Medical Assisting Instructor at the 91¿´Æ¬ Crisp County Center.
  She has worked with Flint River Hospital since 2009 in different capacities. She began her career there as an ER tech and assisted with emergency situations under the direction of the physician. She was promoted to the Flint River Rural Health Clinic in March of 2010 where she triaged patients with complete vital signs, took medical histories, and assisted with in-office procedures. She moved to the Riverside Treatment Center inside Flint River Hospital in 2015 and has been working there until she joined 91¿´Æ¬ recently.
  Yawn graduated from 91¿´Æ¬ with a diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing in 2010 and is a nursing major at Albany State University. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and a Member of the Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society. She spent one month in Kerla, India, as part of a study abroad program for nurses.
  In her capacity as a full-time Medical Assisting instructor at the 91¿´Æ¬, Yawn will be responsible for executing the program standards of an accredited program of study to include classroom instruction, identifying appropriate resources and teaching methods, and evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives as well as responsible for classroom/lab/clinical instructions and evaluations.
  91¿´Æ¬ is currently accepting students for the Fall Mini-Semester, which begins October 7th.
